This is just my opinion, and not from a show perspective. I feel like lavenders, blacks and paints all go very well together because they are all supposed to have a black base color and can be interbred to get blacks, lavenders, paints, lavender paints, and dominant whites.I'm thinking about introducing lavenders, and splashes into the flock, and buying some from a reputable breeder, but I don't know if I can show them, or if the would have a good chance in the ring.
Recessive whites should be kept in their own breeding pen and not intermingled with the others because it can pop up and make the paint breeding very confusing (does the bird have dominant white, recessive white, or both?)
And splashes do well with blues or blacks, but not with anything else unless you are wanting blue paints, etc. Any time you breed a splash to a black base bird, the offspring will 100% be blue based. So it is an easy way to get your black based birds off track.
