The same thing happened to me...a raccoon got all but one of our 10 week old pullets awhile age. We recentally got her some chicks for company, and even though they are three times small than her, they're best freinds. I hope you remaining chicken gets some freinds soon...sorry for your loss.

Aww- I'm so sorry for your loss

but I think we all make this mistake at some point or another. At least I have. The one and only time I forgot to lock the coop I lost all of my beautiful Silkies. I was devastated. Now if I'm running late and its getting dark I call my neighbor and she'll shut them in for me. I can't chance even leaving the door open a little past dark, I love my birdies too much.

wow...i am so sorry that happen to you......i have only had chickens for about 24 weeks now....
and i am sure that is all of our biggest fear!.....we have all made mistakes in your life.....i bet
your "new" chicks will be great!............dont let this get you down!...you have to get back up
and fill up that coop again!!!......good luck!

Steve just read the story sorry for your loss..... things happen and people make mistakes....... it happen to me last year but mine was a bobcat.... lots of luck

I forgot a couple of times and had to go out with a flash light when I finally remembered after I was in bed. After that, I set an alarm in my iPhone to remind me each night. Gonna check out sunset app too. Sorry for your loss and glad you've gotten your survivor some company.
