The heat in Arizona is obviously frying my brain cells as well as eggs as I'm a little goofy.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've been eating eggs and occasionally a bit of chicken for decades, but raising them is new to me. My partner is a farm boy from the Great Plains so it is nothing new to him.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

1 Light Brahma
2 Rhode Island Reds
2 Andulusians
2 Australorps
3 Buff Orpingtons
2 Amercuanas
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
From a guy in a bar. He also told me we were crazy for having 12, that Sumatras were the best, and some tips for keeping the birds cool in the AZ heat.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We have a preschooler so mainly hanging out with her. I sew, knit, pretend to read so I can hang out with my girls at bookclub, garden, camp and work too much.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a big ol' golden retriever and two fiercesome attack kitties. I'm delurking finally as it is about time.
