There is something in my basement. I know this not because I have seen anything running around, but after the dust was kicked up by my chicks, these foot prints appeared on a table. They are way too big to be a mouse and not small enough to be a rat I dont think, but way too small to be my cat and she hasnt been down there anyways. Are they squirrel prints? What ever it is had to have gotten in through my dryer vent because I disconnected it from the dryer so anything can just crawl in, I suppose. (going to close that off right now....

) And had to be smart enough to get back out, because there isnt anything down there that I could see, and we dont have very much stuff in our basement. Anyone have any idea what these prints are? You can see how it jumped up on the edge of the table like a cat or something would.......

I would absolutely love it if it were a kitten! But I live about a mile from any of my neighbors and I have never seen a kitten in my yard................ I went down and looked again and there are no definite toenail marks, just one spot here or there that could possibly be a toenail, but could also be nothing.

Wow! The definately look like tiny cat prints!! If there is no possiblity of a tiny cat / kitten to be in you basement, then I am stumbed. What looks like a cat print but isn't a cat print...? I will be watching this thread in hopes you find the anser and let us know!

Nobody thinks squirrel? I feel sad that I crimped off the access to the basement if it is a kitten. I dont know where a kitten would come from. If it were feral, I wouldnt think that it would try that hard to go into somewhere where people are. And whatever it was didnt get any of my chicks, who decided to learn to fly and were free ranging the basement when we came home from Easter weekend.
