There's something white coming out of my chickens butt

One of my chickens just started laying and there is something white coming out of her butt, i have looked at pictures of prolapsed vents, and this doesn't look like that. It looks like egg white, could she just have messed up laying an egg? She doesn't look uncomfortable, but I separated her from the other chickens because one was pecking at it.

i just looked at it again and it looks like a white tube, could it be part of her intestines or something?

She might have part of a soft shell in there. You may want to treat it like an egg bound situation and try and fish out that shell. Be careful. If it's a broken hard shell it's a whole different situation. Try and keep her bottom clean in the meantime.

This happened to one of my chickens and it ended up being a "poorly formed" egg. I thought it was part of her insides, but called the vet (and sent him a picture) and he said to pull on it very gently. She ended up passing it on her own and was fine afterwards. You can either try pulling on it or just wait for it to pass. I was too worried about hurting her, though she didn't flinch when I tried to remove it.
