there is egg yolk but no egg shells a anywhere, what could be the problem she just lost her best chick friend not too long ago,to a raccoon.

Sometimes a chicken "drops a softie" -- especially new layers, chickens going into or coming out of molt, or a bird who has been through a stressful event.

If it's a one-off it's nothing to worry about. :)
She is about 2 years old and a buff orpington. Just recently she lost her best friend a little Easter egger that she always protected from the other chickens (but could not protect from a raccoon) 😥 They were always together and snuggling and you know how they can be just really cute with her arm over the little ee's back when they would sleep together at night and I think that was really stressful for her because she lost her best little buddy and she also just got through with a late molt .So with all of this kind of stress it makes sense I'm hoping that she feels better soon.I just love this little girl she's very sweet and would lay a perfect golden egg pretty close to almost every day. I'm feeding them 20% protein. I upped the protein a little bit thinking maybe that's what they needed
Thank you very much for replying to me this is such a wonderful sight to be on thank you again.

Her shell gland is acting up either due stress, diet, or infection will cause the lack of shell formation. Once or twice is okay in a hen this age but if it continues you may need to investigate further.

Awww, you love your chickens ❤️ With a little time she’ll find her way. With your help keeping her safe and sound, it’ll be all good in no time 🐓❤️
