I've heard on this board about putting the probe end of the thermostat in a pill bottle full of sand in order to tell the temp "inside the egg". Has anybody noticed that their bottle of sand appears to get kinda sticky/wet? Is this normal? Does this affect the reading of the thermometer?

Ive never tried that, but I assume its because of the humidity in the incubator.

I dont think it would really affect it, because the eggs are experiencing the SAME amount of humidity (dampness.)

I have never hatched eggs, so these are just my thoughts, and if they need correction, feel free!
