Chirping
First hatch! Tomorrow is "hatch day" Friday the 11th. I locked down on Tuesday the 8th. Wednesday a chick pipped and hatched Wednesday night. 4 more hatched today. Lots of comotion going on in the kitchen tonight! I wasn't thinking about laying the thermometer down! I had it standing up and it's gotten knocked down face down
(( I've read some people will go into the bator to work magic. I don't plan on helping any hatch. I don't know if I should wait until tomorrow and fix the thermometer, pull out dry chicks and add water if needed OR fix it tonight and add water if needed... Wednesday night chick is completely dry but the others are not. Two of them hatched 3 hours ago... I have a still air 1602n hovabator. It's been doing really well as far as keeping the temp and humidity good during the lock down. So I don't feel too pressured to let it go for the night BUT there are still a lot of eggs pipped and I don't want to shrink wrap them if I can help it. Everything has been good so far but now I'm on the fence.
Also these hatchlings are crazy. Rolling pipped eggs all over the place- I'm assuming that's ok!? Thanks in advance
