I have a quick question, which work better a digital or a plastic(similar to the glass thermometer) one? TSC has one which is $2.99(plastic) and another local hardware store is $13.95 for a digital one. Would it matter, really, which one I would get?

ADDING.......If I would put the eggs in the bator tonight without a hygrometer, would it hurt them of the hatching chances? I plan on getting one tomorrow so it would be less than 24 hours. In the LG bator there is a reservoir in the middle of the bator for water. I put some water in there yesterday when I turned it on. Is the okay to do that?

Also the LG is a still air bator. Would it improve hatchability if I would add a pc fan to circulate the air?

Are digital ones better than the manual type?

That's a really good question! I know the digitals are easier to read, but I'm unsure whether they are any higher quality or not. I'll be curious on your replies!

That sounds great but it doesn't have the hygrometer with it does it?

Is there another way to gauge general humidity besides with a hygrometer?
