Thermometers:3 "Accurite"- all different! Set up /Arrrghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then the question becomes: will they fit and take temps properly in tabletop incubators? Right now I am getting temp of 99.2 at top of eggs with the human digital one. It records in 8 seconds, so I can take more than one reading in different areas... My other human probe thermometer (kind you put in your mouth or arm) reads the same...so I'm thinking these may be good ! the standbys...the" accurites" are too variable because the holes are all down the side..so getting them in the right position is

I thought about wet bulb, but trying to position them, and just think about hatches!
When I tried to find a mercury thermometer , all I can find is "mercury free'....thank you regulators!

Then I looked at wetbulb, they wouldn't fit or be practical.....

basal body thermometers are the same size as most oral thermometers, maybe even a bit smaller. They will probably be the best calibrated and most minutely accurate of anything else we can fine in stores.
If I ever find myself in a drug store again, I plan on asking if they have any analog ones. I have a digital one, but it's not continuous read, and you have to push a button to start the reading (digital) so I would have to open the incubator and that defeats the purpose.

I also have two temp guns. Has anyone ever used these?

I looked at some on Amazon, but the temp guns I looked at the accuracy was too variable...like 2 degrees....same with some digital meters....sigh

Thermoworks RT301WA.

They are rated to reach a stable temperature within 6 seconds. They are capable of being calibrated also. The calibration directions are on the back of the package. They are accurate and have been used to replace the temperature guns which were deemed to be inaccurate and too slow to respond at the analytical laboratory where I used to work.

They do have a digital read out and do require a battery and are not continuous display to enable longer battery life. They are accurate and maintain their accuracy after being calibrated or having their factory calibration confirmed. I use mine with a cabinet incubator. It is placed through a small hole in the side of the cabinet and simply turn on the display to check the internal temperature. If using a styrobator, just push the probe through the wall so that it is reading the temperature in the desired location.

thank you, of course I read this after I sent for a simiiar probe and 2 strip ones from GQF AND a digital one from Incubator warehouse......I may also send for this one...then I could start a "used thermometer store"
