Gave up my group weeks ago. Thought we wee set to get on with our lives. But the family said they were getting in Moms strawberry patch and under house. Cours the seven yr old told me this. I would visit m crew once a week or so bringing fw things, checking on them, providing the organic feed. They were housed within a big big old former dairy barn. The guy was raising and selling meat goats. So plenty of huidity in barn. Prob poor goat not let put esp the female with new KIDS. well
well anyway we were too to come get them or they would butcher them or give them away.
I had befriend the 4 children of the family and gave the children gifts and lil money for taking care(not the best there) but I dealt with it.
Noticed the day I was told by the seven yr old young boy there. That Sissy girl was limping ad her "ankle" was swollen. I took a pic best I could. Later after we got them back asked a lady I knew to take a look at Sissy.. She thought it might be pus. But I didn't so....
so I gave her permission to slice into it. Well she should have just knocked her "spot' But unfortunately my friend sliced into it. No Pus. just muscle looking meat. Not skinny either
SHE APPLIED SOME "GREEN APPLE" SHE CALLED IT. A GREEN GOURD AND ALCHOL COMBINATION. AND BANDAGED IT UP...
We took them back home.
Now its all swollen and the wound is gaped but looks healing. But a whole lot more swollen
Please advise
thanks

I am sorry.
Can you post a few pictures of this area on her leg?

the first pic is of march 30 or so DAY BEFORE when we picked them up
sec pic 2 days ago. need to check her and re-bandage her tonight. She has been in all day today Its cold and wet. I think the gap developed s from the "surgery" got bigger when we let her out with them in the big 1/2 acre. and when Hubby chased her down when the wind blew open the French glass patio door in basement and she just mossed or hopped out.
Let her out (in big cage)In partly shaded yesterday when it was very nice and she could see them and eat some weeds..
Could the original swollen in the first pic be like a human "twisted swollen ankle"? since she was in that other place for about three months? or is it some kind of cyst or tumor?
Please advise.. thanks yall,

I'm sorry Im not sure whats going on here. It definitely looks infected...is a vet an option?

I guess you could try segregate her and keep her somewhere where she can't get dirt into the wound. Smear some antibiotic ointment on it and hope for the best. Or maybe just let her be. Sometimes chickens heal amazingly well just on their own.

It looks possibly like a tumor, especially since “there was no pus and it looked like muscle inside.” What are you treating the lice with? Permethrin garden dust or the spray is good. Treat every 10 days until there are no more kice or nits. Empty the bedding in nests and coop, spray with permethrin, and replace with clean bedding.

She is inside. for quite a while We changed the bandage tonite It bled the dang gaze stuck some. later I found some anti stick guaze pads.a had ;;;Hope to change that tomorrow
no straw etc in coop or nests etc..like I mentioned before BAREfloors etc only rubber floormats mats
we bathed 3 of them other nite. Rroo I put the Baby diaper cream on his red butt, using poultry dust or cinammon another time. The feather shafts bases thick with the "eggs" is es semi thick esp on Roo Roo area around his vent
,on their vents and sprinkle sulfur their legs and skin. and roost or sulfur in the sand box dust bather dirt bath. or food grade sulfur or mineral oil. Bare as bones. in coop.
Oh put that Expercin on the younger girls neck skin tonight
