They are coming!!

She had a little bit when I got home from work, but not too bad. I soaked her little tush again and applied olive oil, so hopefully that will help.

I am brooding them in our heated basement in a large dog kennel that I put cardboard around the edges...but found myself tucking them into a large, clear storage tote with their ecoglow and feed/water to haul upstairs so I can sit on the couch and just watch them! Better get them back downstairs before hubby comes home and finds them in the living room!!

He may as well get used to it. I can tell already that you're "one of us." There's going to be chickens in the living room. Nothing wrong with that.

My chicks arrived today! Healthy and happy looking despite their two day journey (also from My Pet Chicken) ! Enjoying all your posts!

Mine came today from MPC too! Cannot wait to hear if yours were okay!

My chicks are only 7 weeks and I am dying to get more! Just can't do it though. Have a small coop so 5 is my limit. It's going to be a long time until I can get more. May need to move to a bigger piece of property! LOL

Here they are! 2 Buff Orphingtons, 2 Barred Rocks, 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte, 1 Speckled Sussex! Everyone is drinking and eating in just over 2 hours home! So fun to watch, I may have to call in "personal day" tomorrow (my daughter will be the chick sitter!)

That really does sound like the only logical thing to do.

Yup!!! Funny thing is that when we moved into this house 8 year ago the process was rather crazy and I swore to my DH that I would never move again. A few weeks after getting the chicks I told him I might be able to be convinced to move someday if we make sure I have more room for chickens! I got the eye roll! LOL

OMG... all these baby chicks makes me want spring break to hurry up so I can take my kiddos to tractor supply to pick out more!! It has become a fun thing for them to pick them out then take them home and feed them!! LOL. They have more fun doing that then them coming in the mail.
