I set 69 Jumbo Coturnix Quail eggs from PurpleChicken 19 days ago. I had just about given up on them. I just went down and checked and 6 have hatched since this morning when I checked them!

Honestly this is the most excited I've been about hatching since the first pip I had. I have spent a lot of time, effort and money into trying to work out the kinks and I was getting really frustrated. Seeing these after I thought all was lost was really cool!

Let this be a lesson to everyone who gives up after day 21 on your chicken eggs- the last chicken eggs I incubated pipped on days 23 and 24 after I had had a lot of humidity issues and had really all but given up on them. Quail usually pip on day 16 or 17 and these hatched on day 19! Patience is the key!!

Well...I set them on the 17th in the evening and today is the 5th of December so I guess that's 18 days- right? Still longer than my impatience could tolerate. [IMG]

    Congratulations, Buster!!! [IMG]

Maybe your thermometer is off a little and that's why they hatch late? Jes' sayin'.
