Boy am I the wrong one to give an opinion about Barred Rocks(love them

)! However, if I am forced to tell the truth, I have a little Barred Rock hen named Bella that is 5 months old and she actually growls at the other birds(or it sounds like growling to me). Mine are a tad bird aggressive, but VERY people friendly.

When I got home tonight, Pecker (thought the name fits it perfectly) had stopped attacking the other chicks & was acting normal. I think maybe it was just stressed out from the trip.

I can't believe how much those little things can drink, eat & poop. I also think they got bigger from the time I last saw them at lunch till the time I got home from work.

Oh my goodness, they are so cute. I am set to get my first chicks next week and can hardly wait. I have a chicken tractor built and ready for my pullets when they are 5 weeks so I figure I have a while to get my coop built. This is all so exciting.

I swear that when I checked my 3 pullets yesterday morning none of them had feathers, but when I came home last night there were indeed some feathers starting to appear. I'm glad someone else has noticed this because I thought I was going "bird brained".
