I put my order in two months ago but had to wait until I moved to get them. They arrived yesterday from Cackle Harchery. I ordered the following:

25 frying pan special ( dual purpose cockerels)
5 barred rock pullets
5 Gold Lace Wyandottes
3 Bronze Breasted Turkeys

All but one of my chicks is doing well. With some intensive TLC I think he might pull through.

The turkeys are hysterical in a bumbling idiot sort of way, and they already have their wing feathers!

All my pullets are tagged with spiral leg markers (I know they have to be removed) and I'm trying to handle them as much as is safe. My brooder area is really not big enough but the bigger one is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I can sit and watch their antics for quite a while, they are very entertaining.

Hopefully I can get some of the photos to show as I'm doing this on my phone.

Anyone have a guess as to what the yellow ones are? They are far more outgoing and aggressive than any of the others.

Someone told me that turkey can get some sort of bug or parasite that kills chickens, I don't know if that's accurate but I just wanted to let you know

They won't be together long. But I've been told turkeys need help learning about life and the other chicks help. They'll be deprecated tomorrow.

Actually the chickens give the disease to the turkeys that are fatal! It is blackhead! Your not supposed to have turkeys on the same soil as chickens! And if your turkeys do get blackhead, they don't have the right medicine for it cuz they took it off the market! Trust me on this! Good luck to you! They are gorgeous!
