I'm going to try and replace my mutt flock with either Golden Buffs or Rhode Island Reds. They're such awesome layers!

I wanted my chicks to be RIR's, but I didn't want to wait any longer, so I got 5 New Hampshire reds,buff orpingtons,5 plymoth rock, and 2 other black breeds we are not sure of yet.

My only concern is when I go to work in the morning. If I make sure their water is fresh and the food is ok, will they be ok for 8-9 hours until I get home?
