They ate all the calcium! Too much?

Yeah, too much calcium is a bad thing
Especially for non-layers, as in baby chicks getting hold of oyster shell. I have a sad story about what that does to their bodies. I'll suffice it to say, too much calcium damages their kidneys. Leg nerves run through their kidneys. There is no cure. They had to be put down.

That's why I am feeding my chickens this. There is almost zero calcium in this feed. I'm doing it mostly because of my 2 roosters.

Unfortunately I found out the hard way with one of my Sussex hens that chickens can OD on calcium. That can include eggshell also.

We feed everyone (silkies and 3 ducks) Kalmbach's Flock Maker. Low calcium, high protein (20%).

They all do very well, but oyster shell is put out for the hens. I normally hatch the chicks and sell them. That time, I let a hen raise some. I forgot the dish of oyster shell was reachable, and I suppose when momma ate some, they did too.

This is Kalmbach's flock maintainer. Virtually no calcium.
The Flock Maker is nearly the same as yours, as are all of the all-flock versions. I just want the higher protein, as we feed everyone the same thing. Day-old chicks, old chickens, roosters, and ducks. Yours and this version have high niacin for waterfowl.

Compared to their layer feed, which is not good for chicks, roosters, or the ducks.

And it's the high calcium that affects the roosters negatively
