They don't know what to make of the first snow, PIC

It was also my girls' first snow, and they were real confused. They spent the yesterday in the garage.

Our bravest hen stuck her beak out for a look-see and darted back inside the barn. All seven of them are now busy picking through the straw on the barn floor. I don't expect to see much of them today unless I go to them - there is NO WAY they are going to come through the snow to me!

Most of mine are unfazed by it. I even have a few who will stand outside all day in a blizzard, getting covered in it. They know where shelter is, they just chose to stay out.

The ducks even swim in the snow.

Well, if mine didn't go out in the snow, they'd starve

So there hasn't been any question! They do seem to be spending more time in the coop, but they come out plenty. Trying to keep them from escaping the pen, then trying to catch an escapee on icy ground, adds a lot of excitement to the season!
