They don't like BOSS

I bought a 40lb bag of BOSS for my chickens... figured it would last us for a long time if I use it sparingly. They don't eat it... what's up with that?!?

Mine usually take a couple of days or a couple of tries to come around to something. So finicky!

I use hulled seed only for my wild bird feeders.
There is no shell. Very expensive but absolutely no mess to clean up.
The chicken go nuts for the hullled seed.

They like it better than scratch.
Actually, they barely show interest in scratch but eventually it disappears.

Mine beg for BOSS every morning...like a room full of kids begging for candy! They would eat a whole 50# bag if they could figure out how to get it open!

The first couple of time I put Black Oil Sunflower Seeds (BOSS) out, my chickens ran.

Now they crowd the fense line when they see me coming. Give it time.

Put it on top of their feed, or mix it in.
