They just "fell" into my cart...

You are not alone my friend. Last February 2 Khaki Campbell ducklings flew out of the big bin they were in at Rural King and actually got into my car before I even knew it! lol I think Rural King gives them steroids so that they can find good homes quicker and they can manage to get around so good at such a young age. lol Mine had to stay in my living room for 6 weeks as our weather was too cold to move them out. It was mid winter here in Ohio and I think they were trying to fly South late but got confused by the cold and got in my car instead. That was my story and I was sticking to it. lol By the way, I am still married, luckily! lol

i KNOW, That just happens. I went into farm store to get dog food and guess what they had, Beilefelder(cannot even pronounce it) Could not let some one take them home, so rare and great layers, not broody, sweet, over 280 eggs a year. Oh, I just was reading about them accidently and there they were. It was Karma!!!. Had to get a few more chicks to keep them cmpany bacause it was still cold here. Went home with 9!! All doing well.

Naughty little talented hens! 🤣
Sounds like what just might happen with some duck eggs being laid in the broody Buff Orpington's nest...no idea how THAT happened!:lau
I bet the Elf on a Shelf did it. That guy is always causing mischief

Oh! I know the ones you are talking about! I was just reading about those, too. Should be great chickens. Hopefully they will actually be that breed. 3 years ago, come May, we went into TSC for duck feed and heard the peeping! I couldn't stop these "Jersey Giant" chicks from falling into my cart! If you haven't noticed, I have a thing for big chickens. Well, as it turns out, Squirrel and Evie aren't JG's. They are, we believe, Australorps. Sad for me, but they are really good girls. We were extremely sad when Kiki and Red were murdered by a fox. They are really good layers. At least the eggs they lay are brown! That way we can tell them apart easier from the Welsh Harlequin duck eggs, which are white. I think we may be done with getting chicks... unless there are some Polish and maybe a couple Silkies at the chicken show this Saturday! I'm so excited. I've never been to one before. It's super local, too. They hold it every year in April and September. Not sure how we never knew this, we pass by the fairgrounds every weekend.

Famous last words...
Right?! I just can't resist! I LOVE looking out at my back yard and seeing all these different looking chickens. They are so beautiful! I also adore how they know when I come out the door, every single time. Not sure how they know it's me, because they don't run like the grass is on fire towards anyone else, when they walk out the door! Maybe it's because I bring treats and snacks more than half the times I walk out that door. And I mean they stop what they are doing and RUN to me, even if I've walked in and came right back out four different times! I have crazy birds, and I love them so very much.
