They live outside now!

Omg it takes so much sand I'm going for a drinking solution of a low bucket covered in 2" chicken wire so that they can't climb into it. They'll have a kiddie turtle sandbox/pool for swimming in. I'm headed back to Lowes in a few to pick up the other half of the sand I bought. My suspension wasn't going to take it all at once!

They're already eating it. I thought 1000 pounds would cover it all, but I may need a few hundred more pounds. (Pen is 18' x 10') How deep should the sand be, and how often should I rake/scoop or spot clean?

I’d like to make a suggestion your pen looks great but if me because raccoons will reach in and try to pull-up your ducklings/ducks out through the chicken wire, best way to avoid that is by putting hardware cloth at least 3‘ up from the ground all Around your chicken wire.chicken wire is made to keep chickens in not predators out . Hardware cloth is the only thing that will keep predators out.

Different opinions on bleach ... obviously

So what kind of sand did you buy? Looks awfully white ... is it silica sand ??
