Play sand, like for a kids sandbox. It's whatever Lowes had on hand

Sand is sand..They are Ducks and will be fine...

I have a simple Dog Run without adding wire to it..Weasels haven't gotten my Calls yet..Worry about things when you have reasons to worry...

I’d like to make a suggestion your pen looks great but if me because raccoons will reach in and try to pull-up your ducklings/ducks out through the chicken wire, best way to avoid that is by putting hardware cloth at least 3‘ up from the ground all Around your chicken wire.chicken wire is made to keep chickens in not predators out . Hardware cloth is the only thing that will keep predators out.

There is a red fox that lives in the woods near here, I've seen him crossing the road near us when I drive home from night shifts. He's the one I'm most worried about. I haven't seen any raccoons, but that doesn't mean that they aren't out there. Plenty of skunk, though. I'll give the hardware cloth some definite consideration for next weekend, for sure!

I have simple sand down and I think sometimes people are a bit picky on what others do.. Ducks live in the wild and survive on a lot worse conditions...

Actually sand is not sand , silica is a fine dusty sand that causes respiratory issues in people and animals , I do know some tings !

In researching , instead of asking one persons opinion, I found that silica sand can actually really cause problems for chicks ,( I have it in the brooder too)

So instead of “ sand is sand “ which it isn’t maybe research before buying .
