They love their coop too much

My mixed flock of 6 -3month old pullets don't spend much time outdoors. They do have a comfy coop, but the run is also very nice. Should I shut the pop door to keep them outside longer. They probably spend 80% of their time in the coop and 20% in the run. I move the whole set up once a week to allow for new range areas. Any suggestions or is the time spent in the coop normal?

All I can say is that I love your coop too as well! What a great looking coop. You did an amazing job.
Try closing the door as you suggested and maybe put some feed and water out in the run if there is not some already. Maybe try to feed them some treats out in the run, vegetables or whatever.
Again, great coop!

I have the same problem, mine are 4 months old, 23 RIR hens, and one rooster. They seem content to stay in the chicken house and not go outside at all.

It is a large chicken house, 12 x 24, but there is a large shade tree in the run, they just seem content to stay inside of the house.

It has been very hot here, but I have a fan inside the chicken house, and plenty of food and water. I think they just feel safer inside. I am hoping when they get older, they'll get outside more.

I am sure that they will begin to "expand their territory" as they mature. Actively give them food in the run and maybe spend some time with them in the run if it is comfortable for you and see how they go from there. That way you can monitor them close to see if there are any limping or otherwise not doing well. Hope that helps.
