Hello everyone, I am new to Backyard Chickens and still fairly new to raising chickens. I couldn't think of a catchy thread title, so I picked a favorite song lyric. The full lyric is "I used to think as birds take wing, 'they sing through life, so why can't we?'"
Anyway, onto the questionnaire!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am still fairly new to chickens. My husband and I got two silkie hens about a year ago. He used to have chickens growing up, and I think he may regret encouraging me to get chickens because I spoil my girls!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Three
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two white silkies and an Easter egger
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
It kept popping up when I would Google questions I had about my chickens, so I figured that after lurking about for a year, I may as well join!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy painting, sculpting, casting silver jewelry, and birdwatching. The picture I used for my avatar is one of my paintings.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I have quite a few other pets! I have a rainbow lorikeet, a rosy bourke parakeet, a cockatiel, and a budgie (I love birds, in case it wasn't obvious). We also have a dog, a cat, two snakes, and a fish. Somehow, we have managed to keep everyone from eating each other!
