They won't come in, out of the rain!

The pics of the wet polish was a hoot. I still don't know if they'll get sick. But hey, I guess sometimes they know best. Or at least they know what they like the best.

Hmmm, I find this quite interesting. Maybe it's just me being stupid...

I thought all birds liked the rain. I see them out in it a lot. They come my bird feeders soaking wet and they use the bird bath to get drenched and splash around. I go fill up a dip in my driveway during the dry spells in the summer so the birds can bath in it. They love it.

I though most animals enjoy a good rain.

These two are certainly enjoying it.

I thought all birds enjoyed a good rain also. I was also under the impression that birds had protective oils in the skin and downy feathers to help keep them from getting soaked to the skin

Outside temps are warm and I don't worry about them too much, I let them play, but I would never let them stay out in a rain with cold temps, that makes for sick birds.

I always worry about my chickens especially when were having these hurricaine type storms. I think I'm more worried that they are going to blow away than get too wet. But then i get home and they're soaked to the bone and don't seem to mind. I'm sure that they find shelter when they really need to.

I was noticing the other day though when i had them all locked up in the pen and it was raining, that they didnt seem as wet as usual. Maybe they went in the coop because they didnt have anything better to do....

I don't think chickens have much of a protective layer, like a duck or a goose. When I have bathed my chickens, they usually get soaked to the bone pretty fast.

No really they are dumb, when it is raining something like the rain trace. Just standing there. Looking at you like "darn this really sucks I'm stuck"!! I tried to chase mine once and I ended up soaking wet when I just said "Just out in the rain" Once it stopped I just threw scratch in their coop and they all ran in.

Every animal we own (except for the cats) loves to stand out in the rain, even though they all have shelter available for them.

I figure that they know when too much is too much and they'll go in out of the rain when they need to

Including himans. Children seem to love to play in the rain. I remember when I was young running out on the playground in a rainburst. The outdoors are just more fun. No one likes to be pinned up. If that means running around in the rain, so be it.

I agree, kids love the rain. I send mine out with rubber boots and umbrellas (with no thunder or lightning of course). They have a ball! I think its refreshing to critters, like a "theres no other option" bath.
