Yay glad you found her. I did something similar the other day. Had 2 of mine out and completely forget and let the dogs out. After about 2 minutes it dawned on me what I had done!!! Took me over an hour to find the one because she had hidden so good!! Thank God she was alright other than a miniscule spot on her butt and lots and lots of missing feathers! Couldn't be mad at the dogs because it was my fault entirely. So I feel your pain. Your not a bad chicken momma just a busy chicken momma!!!

You sound so much like my poor husband. He's a stay at home dad and as soon as you start working on something outside a baby wakes up screaming or a toddler needs to run inside to pee!

Our girls are big enough to free range in the fenced yard occasionally during the day if he's going in and out and he had a scare about a week ago he looked out the window and couldn't see any of them anywhere and they hadn't been alone, but for a few minutes.... he went racing outside to find *my* birds thinking what it was cost him to replace them for me (money and tears?) he found them all taking a nap under an overgrown honeysuckle on the fence! The vine got trimmed now so he can see them if they're under it for a nap.
