We're on our first incubator hatch, hatching shouldn't have started till saturday which is today now I see LOL Well they started pipping yesterday and last night one hatched right out, it's stumbling around in there pecking all over the place, 4 more are pipped and rockin' like crazy . I might not make it to bed tonight!

Happy Birthday Chicks!! This is day 21 for 13 Black Copper Marans eggs and 7 Blue Cochin Bantams. Two marans hatched late yesterday, one more during night and two of my tiny little bantams have hatched. Don't see any activity in the others yet so am hopeful for lots more to hatch. Fingers crossed!

Good luck to all with eggs hatching today.

Thanks for the good lucks and good luck to you guys too.

This was my first hatch too, I don't know if I mentioned that lol. 10 out of 11 eggs have hatched. 7 hatched yesterday from 12 PM until I went to sleep. And I woke up to three more! I candled the egg that was left. No pip or anything. All I see is a large mass. I'll wait for it a day or two and see if their's any progress and then I'll do the warm water trick I've heard about. I hope it hatches but I'm thrilled to have 10 beautiful chicks.

I actually screamed when I heard the first chirp. Well.. I was like "I HEARD A CHIRP OMG" lol.

One of my Barnevelder eggs is hatching tonight. I can see a tiny crack. I'm hoping the rest will follow soon.

I had to send the grand kids to bed without seeing any action in the incubator. They are spending the night in hopes of being the first to see our new hatch. Anticipation is a good thing. More kids (more people, for that matter) need to relearn how to wait for good things, to appreciate BEING THERE.

Oh! Congrats! I hope that egg and the others hatch for you and I hope your grandkids get to see it hatch.

Yeah I was anticipating this hatch so much that I was looking into the incubator so much I woke up with a sore back from leaning over!

My duck egg (yes, just one, due on the 29th) is jerking and twitching in the 'bator. I've got it locked down, humidity at 75%, and keep popping up to see if it's pipped yet!

There's 1 chicken egg in there too, due on the 1st or 2nd. I'd worry about the humidity, but it had a bad/damaged air cell from being shipped, and the air cell seems larger than it should be at 16 days, so I am hoping a little extra humidity won't hurt.

Good luck Chotii on your chicken and duck egg. I hope they both hatch for you!

I heard shipped eggs are a real pain in the butt.

Well Ive had about 20 chicks hatch so far, and its day 22. But I actually had three broody hens hatch out chicks today, all first time moms, so I tried introducing a chick to each of them, and they all accepted them, yay, lol, I love it when the chicks get to have a momma. Plus one of the hens only had three eggs, and as soon as I put the chick close to her she started talking to it and accepted it straight away (so I gave her a couple more, lol)

I did have a couple of chicks die, and I still have four in my care, there a bit weaker, so I didnt want to chance it with them.

Not sure if any more will hatch, but I dont think 50% is to bad considering the fluctuations in the tempurature.
