They're hatching! Anyone else hatching?

My first one pipped/cracked the shell (is that the same as pipping?) yesterday in the evening. I guess it took a break over night and then once I got up in the morning I saw the pip hole had gotten cracked more. So of course I stayed glued to the bator for about an hour. Lol. It zipped and hatched at 11 AM!

Also, one of my eggs pipped today at around 11 AM. But I haven't seen it move or make any progress since then so.. I don't know. I guess we will have to wait together!

Chicken_china_mom congrats, good luck, and thank you!

Well thats encouraging

I just checked and several more have pipped/made that first little crack in the shell, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a normal hatch.

I've got a dozen eggs that were supposed to hatch today (Delawares, Barnevelders, and Golden Cukoo Marans). I've had difficulty throughout the entire hatch keeping the temperature constant in the incubator. This happened once before, and nearly all the chicks hatched okay four days late. I hope that's what going on this time as well.

Good luck to everyone who's waiting. If yours are in the brooder already, post some pictures!

Update: 6 out of 11 hatched! I see two wiggling and pipped. One was pipped this morning but hasn't moved since... and two haven't pipped yet.

Well, I wasn't expecting any to hatch today (it was supposed to be tomorrow or Sunday) but I was surprised to find 2 chicks peeking out at me from underneath their mom

Well I have one that is zipped and almost out, but it wasnt one of the original pipers, it actually got out really quickly.
I'm a bit worried about the first one that pipped, it isnt making any progress, but I can still see it moving its beak around the hole.

Got 3 black silkie chicks out and 3 more pipped. We had company a few days ago and someone turned off the overhead fan in my office where the incubator is.

The temp spiked to over 104 and it appears that 2 chicks didn't make it. I'm fortunate to have 6 out of the 8 hatching

storminthenight I'm worrying with you. The egg that has pipped this morning hasn't moved at all or anything. I can't see any movement but I can't really see the pip hole. It's on it's side. So I don't know.

I hope your's and mine hatches. I guess we will just have to wait. And congrats on your zipped egg.

oldtimegator that stinks. D: But congratulations on your chicks and pippers! I have silkie chicks but I can't tell what color they are.. I'm a newbie teehee. All I know is that they are adorable.

Well I have two chicks wobbling around the bator, so I'm a little less worried that I fried them.

For the first couple of weeks the temp was really really steady at about 100, but we have had a bit of a heat wave here and we dont have air conditioning in the house, so the bator kept fluctuating, and then one day I came in and it was over 102, so I thought I might not have any hatch.
