They're Hatching! Day 20 for Glenda *PICS ADDED*

Glenda is a real sweetheart; she just had a bit of confusion when they began hatching, but now, she's mother of the year.

Yup, I see that. I think a lot of first time moms get confused. It's great that you were there to help and make sure it all turned out well.

Such cuties!!!! I'm glad that even though they are being rehomed she has had the oportunity to experience motherhood and gain the confidence that goes with it.

I just now found this thread. I didn't realize the hatch got off to such a rocky start, but I agree with Jody that it's not uncommon for first-time moms to do things like that. I've seen it before. They get nervous and mess up.

Since she's doing so well now, I'd say next time around, she'll do just fine all the way through.

I think you're right, Janet. And I'm sure there will be a next time, but I sure hope it's not till after winter is over! My DH said if anyone else goes broody this year, they get NO eggs! Silly man.

LocoPollo came and got Glenda's chicks today-thanks, Randy! He met the Suedenator and some of the crew. Glenda is running around like always, but every once in awhile, she'll look around and call for the chicks. I think she'll be okay by the end of today.

It's always so sad taking the chicks away...

I may let Elvis raise her chicks (however many of the 3 eggs hatch) this time... at least for the first few weeks.

I'm so jealous... I'd love to meet Suede...
