I ordered 29 and got a freebie.

I have mine on newspaper but not the glossy ad papers. So far they are racing around on it like mad. LOL It's so dang funny! One that I nursed back to health (and prayed for) was racing around and running through the water then eating. LOL I think some are just tired and want to sleep but they need to eat and drink after a while and may weaken while napping. I'm giving them the best I can tho.

I too hope that I get replacements. No worries, you didn't hijack. :) The more the merrier to me.

Here are a couple of my faves.

Here's one of the mottled bantams with (I don't know what) I just call it.... chickzilla. LOL

Okay, two that were in the "chick u" are out and about. BUT. two more took their place. :(

One of the brownies is zipping in and out of the water dish. LOL It's only "ankle" deep on him but he just loves to run into it to get a drink.... often.

Very nice, im getting 43 chicks from MM this april. What breeds did you order? Did you have any doa or any died since having them? This is my first time ordering from MM so any info would be great.

I order 27 from Murray last summer, they shipped on June.20 (warm weather). I didn't lose a single one. Not one baby chick. I did lose 3 to a dog in December but that's something totally different.

Here is a picture of a mine when I got them. Things can always go wrong with shipping live animals, but Murray was a good experience for me. This was also my first experience with hatchery shipped chicks.

Hi! my 27 chicks arrived from mcmurray today, too!! We are pals!
I lost one- a red star. :(
I have ordered from them for the last six years. I always order 25-30. The most I have lost is three. Some years none. The thing is whO knows what they go through on the way- it totally varies. This year the new postman broought them to my door carrying them sideways under his arm! I wanted to yell at him, but he seemed very pleased... And clueless.
It is so fun picking chickens with my mcmurray catalog... Andl I think they do a good job...

We've ordered from McMurray a few times. The best thing to do is have the post office call you as soon as they arrive and pick them up yourself and not wait for the mail carrier to bring them to you. We usually just let the post office know ahead of time and they call right away. Good luck!
