They're here, they're here!!! (pics)

Nice job on identifying. I have chicks coming in May - do you think I will be able to tell the Barnevelders, Welsummers, Speckled Sussex and Partridge Rocks apart? What is the chick book you used to identify them?

I'm in Indy...not too many people around here have chicks & pretty much everyone thinks I'm crazy

Where did you order yours from?

i had an order at cackle and i did not want 15, so i found my pet chicken and i only had to order 8 - being in Tipton (which is north of noblesville). if you are in a major city, you only have to order 3.

yes, people think i am nuts and i live in an agricultural town. probably just b/c they do not see me having chickens. i cannot wait to get them. my father-in-law and i are building my coop. i will post photos tomorrow.

what did you brood them in?

Its my fave chick, an EE. She's so fuzzy and sweet. She'll let me and my ds pet her, as we hold her. She hardly sleeps, everytime I go into the garage, she's awake

Thanks - mine aren't coming until May. I will post pics when they come. I figure I will know soon enough what they are, but a lot of the chicks that I ordered look a lot alike in the photos I've seen!

Same w/me...several people have said "you just don't seem like the type"

whatever that means! Definitely post pics of your coop, I would love to have my free range, but my dog and neighbors, may not be happy.

My chicks are in a baby pool, w/paper towels as the liner and are in our garage. I may just move them to their coop sometime in a few weeks. My dh ran electricity out there so I can still use the heat lamps
