Yes, I have a brooder heating plate. I dipped each one's beak in the water and they immediately drank... then they found the food... then they went under the brooder plate.

I'm trying to leave them in peace with quiet time but it's SOOOO hard to not peek in at them every half hour

With my first batch of chicks, I was the same way. Their brooder was set up in the next room over from where I work and all I hear is "peep peep peep" all day and I would find myself not getting any work done and constantly peaking my head in and seeing how they were doing.

Probably going to get a CCTV system set up for my next batch so I can just glance over and don't have to bother them.

I have promised myself that I will NOT get any chicks, ducklings or goslings this year. Watching your video is the closest I should get to enjoying my own baby birds. Thanks for the experience!
