I have nine chicks who were a month old on the 23rd. This morning, I checked on them and found one of them with all the feathers on her back pecked off and two of her "siblings" pecking her! She's fine, isolated now and eating and drinking and acting normal. She has a couple small abrasions on her back, looks like, but thankfully nothing worse! She's a black Cochin and seems to be the passive one of the group but is this normal to have the other ones pecking the heck out of her?

I have had this problem with my chicks two years in a row. They do it at about the same age as yours or a little older. Anything nasty tasting will stop them from being so interested in the game. I read on her that one person uses noxema.

Perfectly normal. There will be one chick who is the lowest ranked of them all. If you're not familiar with "pecking order," Google it. The chickens rank themselves by it. The one who is being pecked by all the others is the outcast of the group. Get some Blue Kote for her injuries and show her some extra attention. She'll need it.

Yup, I see it in my 14 day old peepers. There are two ho seem to posture all the time, and when they come face to face, the both back off like they don't know what to do next. One sort of dive bombs the clutch if they are all gathered together. Its sort of funny to see! They have'nt really started pecking each other yet, other than an occaisional get off my perch nip at the heels so to speak, or a one quick peck.
