btw, duct tape is not a good substitute for this...

it does nothing to improve the grip....

A diaper onto my horse's hoof full of medication as per vet's order when she had a nasty infection from a nail going into her hoof. ouchy! My car has duck tape on it right now. LOL It fixes leaks in garden hoses also. At one time I had a garden hose that was covered in duck tape before I bought a new garden hose.

would be fun if they did

just think of all the other things that could be taped. But for now you just have to get creative with it and fold down the edge as you wrap and make your own double sided duct tape
