The other day I saw our BO buzz the back door with something black hanging out of her beak. The other 2 were right behind her. Something told me it wasn't a lizard or a frog. Turns out it was a baby turtle. All I can figure is that a larger (wild) bird dropped it on the way back from the beach and it landed in our yard. I have never been so grossed out as trying to get that nasty, stinky thing away from them. It was no more than 2 1/2 inches long, but the shell seemed rubbery. I always worry about them choking on something that defies logic in regard to swallow-ability. Yeah, silly me.
Their idea of a gourmet home cooked meal is scrambled egg, complete with the crushed shells, cooked long-grain rice, and anything else in the fridge, preferably warm, not hot. If I stir in a little canned cat food, they act like it's pate. Smell is... unbelievably bad.
They refuse to eat carrots in any form, any kind of lettuce or cabbage, or ants.
This post is 16 pages long and I have read every one. The posts are almost as funny as watching my girls!
