Things that pet chickens do, that working chickens don't!

DD (age 9) has a whole passle of pet chickens. Here are some of the fun and exciting things that pet chickens get to do that working chickens don't!

1. Attempt to swim in a yard cart full of water!

2. Slide down the slide!

3. Slide down the slide with DD!

4. Get hypnotized!

I'm sure there are many more that escape me at the moment!

5) Rooster who likes to be pushed around the yard in a wheelbarrow.

One of ours will ride down the slide with my daughter. I thought the child was tormenting the poor bird, but that hen will fly from her lap at the bottom of the slide, run around to the back, and wait to be carried to the top again. It doesn't seem to be stressing her, either. She's good for an egg a day, slide or not!

Many of ours will also sneak up behind anyone sitting in a lawn chair, and attempt to go through their pockets looking for peanuts. They'll stick their heads right in to a pocket that's hanging open.

Pet chickens get first dibs on treats, lol. At least thats how mine are, they just fly right onto my shoulder when I walk into the pen, kinda scary! Lol
