Things that pet chickens do, that working chickens don't!

DD doesn't know about chicken clothes yet... I'm keeping that to myself as long as possible!

So cute all the special and exciting things pet chickens get to do!

How about pet chickens that get put to bed every night by being carried into their coop? My SLW, if out at dusk, "must" jump into/onto my arms to be put to bed for the night. And once my SLW jumps up, my GB will actually come out of the coop so that she could climb into/onto my arms as well. Spoiled

Our pet silkie chases our dog(he's terrified of her) out of the living room to make sure she gets snuggle time with momma and she always gets half of my snacks, lol.

I don't know when I have enjoyed a thread so much. You guys are great! I can't get my girls to love me for myself. They love me for what I can provide. My RIR waits til almost dark for all the others to turn in so she can get a peanut. I have to take her to the coop by then cause it's too dark for her to see. I am jealous of all the stories. How in the world do you get them to like being held? Are you chickens free range?

no, they cant sleep in her bed!!! seriously?

mine go for shovel rides. as soon as i dig it in, they climb onboard (like a shovel of dirt isnt heavy enough) and ride it as i move it away, peering over the tip to see what i've uncovered in the hole.

I only have four girls and none of them particularly enjoy being held. They do like to hop up on my knee however when I sit in the run with them. We talk a lot but cuddling isn't a part of it. Just depends on the chicken I guess.
