I wish I could say one of my friends here on BYC didn't lose all her hens to avian influenza.

I don't think I've ever been sadder about someone else's loss of chickens .

I know, I'm incredibly sad, too... It happened so fast, such a shock. And the proximity makes me worry for my flock

There was also peeking under tent flaps of certain tents when one did not have the price of admission.
