Things you wish you could say

My endocrinologist has told me to be careful of kombucha. My hyperactive thyroid probably won't like it.
What in kombucha, specifically, was he warning you about, do you know? I've never heard that kind of warning before. What kind of reaction would it cause? :pop:caf

That's actually one I knew how to pronounce because of Schuylerville NY 🥴
There's a woman I met recently who was telling me her kids names and she said her youngest daughter was named Callie, but that nobody knew how to spell it or pronounce it. When I asked her how it was spelled, she said, "K-A-L-L-A-I
🤔
I had to be honest and said I wouldn't have known that was pronounced Callie by looking at it.

I would have guessed how it looks, like Kah-Iie, not Callie

My niece's boyfriend's name is spelled Schuyler. I did not know this and when my sister mentioned his name through text, I asked if she already had a new boyfriend. She said no, same one. I was so confused.

It's pronounced Skylar. I've called him "Shoe-lur" ever since. I mean that's how it's spelled. 🤷‍♀️

How about these? 🤔 I knew some but others really threw even me, who’s lived here basically my whole life, off. :ep

Drinking it now and then probably wouldn't do me any harm, but if I drink it regularly, it might cause my thyroid to be even more hyperactive. I've been in remission from Graves disease for about 7 years now, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Graves disease is not fun. My dad is also in remission. He's doing well now.

I'm glad he's in remission. I found out I had it when I finished a workout and my heart rate wouldn't go below 140. After lying on the floor for 20 minutes and it still didn't slow down I ended up calling 911 and getting an ambulance ride to the emergency room.
