Which one are you talking about? Waitressing, or BAM? Bam has no openings except for manager positions at the moment (they said to try again in the spring), and I did apply for the waitressing job.

I was referring to BAM. But good luck on any job you applied for. At least you are applying, lots of people don't even do that

I want to try waitressing, but as Bill pointed out, the biggest tips are given to those with a pretty face/body.

That is true to some extend, no doubt. But, if you can get on at the right place where all the tips are split between all the workers then you don't have to be Playboy material. The friend I have, though, she is pretty, cooks and makes all that money without anyone ever seeing her. Location, location, location.

Personally, I couldn't say that I have not tipped more for a pretty something at sometime since I am sure I have. But, mostly I tip the same as long as they are not just awful, and even then I usually still will because I figure everyone can have a bad day.

I am probably different than most people. Good service is doing your job like you enjoy it even if you don't. Just be polite and competent. If it is food service I don't like hovering over me. Bring my food, ask me if everything is looks right and if I need anything else. Check on me maybe one time during the meal, and be near by just enough that if I do need something I can get your attention fairly easy. Pestering me is not what I like. But, a little cutting up no matter what you may look like is okay as well. I like to laugh.

I hated being a waitress. Depending on others to pay my bills while being fake nice, was like begging for money. If someone can make good money doing it, more power to them. But it's not for everyone
