Huh. You are right. It is just a water heater. I must admit, I am one of those that call it a hot water heater.

I have out of habit been guilty many times myself.

Well… if you do an online search for the above listed household appliance on either of the major hardware store chains, it is not identified as a “hot water heater!”

But it still understands me. If I search for "hot water heater" at Lowes or Home Depot, it DOES give me the right things (even if their pages actually call them "water heater.")
