Things you wish you could say

One of my neighbors came over when the chickens where out, I picked one up and she wanted to go down to get treats; then my neighbor said "You should hold her like this instead, she doesnt like that" MY NEIGHBOR DOESNT OWN CHICKENS. Ughhhh when people act like they know more about something when they dont even have it and you do!!!!
That's like a baby fussing when held so I tell Mom or Dad that they're holding their baby wrong

Pet peeve based on an often occurring experience. I can't believe the number of people who allow their children to run up to an unknown dog. I have a large, well trained German Shepherd but these people don't know how he will react. I also respect that other people are afraid of this and other large breed dogs. Some times I have an opportunity to change someone's opinion when they meet mine. When asked if my dog bites, I respond with, "Yes but only stupid people, and only command".
I feel for people supported by service dogs. No you do not have to explain what your dog does for you. People - the dog is working - leave it alone.

Granny, does your dog bite? No, child no.
Or in my case unfortunately Yes, child yes. That's why I ask you to not try to pet her, and why you should at the absolute very least not "pounce" on 'puppy' from behind. Not every dog is over the moon to be tackled by strangers

I used to hold the chickens in my first flock like babies. They loved it!

Conversely..... the look on people's face when my then 5 and 6 year old kid asked if they could approach and pet the dog.

Only one person ever said no. My oldest politely said 'OK. He's still a pretty dog.'

Did my heart good to see it without me having coach it from them.
