Not really. The air packed in with it provides cushioning which protects the product. You get what you paid for. It's sold by weight, not volume.

Then maybe you can explain to me why the bag of chips I got from Subway yesterday was full of air and broken chips? You can't seriously believe it's to protect the product during shipping. It's one small way the company can sell you less product for the same amount of money

Well I'm sure they could sell you the same amount of chips in a smaller bag with no air, but you'd gripe about that even more because then you could hold the whole contents in the palm of your hand with room left over for a kitten.

Chips settle and break during shipping and handling. Sold by weight. But yeah, they could probably still use a smaller bag
