Do not read the comments on Yahoo articles.I thought our citizens were at least fairly educated. But everywhere you look, there are examples of words spelled incorrectly. Also, the wrong form of a word is used, example, here or hear. When did just take a stab at it become acceptable? Some of the text you see is unintelligible because there are so many errors. Have a little pride, Americans, learn to spell and learn what words are correct in the context please!
I will say, some of that is the teachers too. My son's teacher spelled something wrong in an all district email. When she was called out about her mistake, that person got in trouble and nothing was said to the teacher!I thought our citizens were at least fairly educated. So much for the number of times I would tell my students, "If you send out an email full of spelling and grammatical errors, at best people will think that you're uneducated. At worst, they'll think you're stupid."I will say, some of that is the teachers too. My son's teacher spelled something wrong in an all district email. Oh, so true. I won't let my son(11) send out anything with mistakes in it. It makes the person look lazy tooSo much for the number of times I would tell my students, "If you send out an email full of spelling and grammatical errors, at best people will think that you're uneducated.
