Things you wish you could say

We have a person like that here. On fb, anytime someone posts a rooster that they are giving away or a unwanted hen they are the first to say "ILL COME PICK IT UP" on lots of posts, there is no way she keeps them. There was rumors she auctions what she can and what doesn't sell she let's the dogs chase and kill....
This guy had 30+ single pens with roosters in his FB profile Pic and was offering ufd 3 roosters to anyone wanting to "get into gamefowl". Looking for hens in addition to roos is the giveaway.

Good grief, can you provide at least SOME information when you're asking for help?

"My X are dying, help!"
Unfortunately, this appears to just be how people think. When I taught ticketing and troubleshooting, some of my students didn't believe the lengths I had them go through to extract information from users until they were on the job.

I make sure all the information we have is posted if we've got a sick chook for this reason exactly.

I have wound up as "in-house IT" here and thankfully I can just walk over and check it, but I have had external people ask for help and it's a nightmare.

Worst time was when it was my Aunt who only spoke Spanish. She was asking why her HP Stream something laptop wouldn't update and was complaining about storage space. Turns out the 32GB of storage such laptops come with isn't enough for Windows 10, and I am astounded the thing even let Windows 10 install. It took me some time to figure out what the message said, and then lots of translating in a attempt to relay the information.

I have thought about suggesting a "help" form for posts that includes the basics "troubleshooting" information needed.

Something like:
Species/breed
Gender
Symptoms in detail
How many
Food/diet
Space
Weight (thin, normal, obese)
Poop (normal or not)
PICTURES

They have a form like that you need to fill out to get help on the hermit crab help forum. Seems to be helpful, because a lot of people do not know what information would be relevant in determining a cause for whatever problem they have. 😊

Almost every IT helpdesk has something like it for tickets. It saves a lot of time because you don't have to go back and forth trying to get basic information.

Or how about using the search tab first.
