Things you wish you could say

I wish a coyote didn't just take off with my favorite pullet.

Man! 2 losses within a few days when we've only had 2 losses in the 12 years before that.

This one really hurts. If I had any idea where that coyote's den was I'd go shoot every one of them.
:hugs :hugs :hugs

Sorry you lost another one. :( Do you have a way to secure your coop/run to keep 'em out? Making it harder for them to snatch a meal is the first step.

Yeah, we're doing all the rest of the work ourselves. But hubby was not confident on doing the electrical. He said he would sleep better knowing that an expert did it.
Plus, if your house catches fire(God forbid) then insurance won't cover it if the electrical wasn't done by a pro

Yeah.

The piece of mind is worth $804. I was a bit surprised at the number, but everything has gone up, so I shouldn't have been, I suppose.

Geez, September is turning into a record spending month for us! :lau

They were out. Right near the house. None of them saw it sneaking in. Not one bird made a warning sound. And apparently there is a gap in the motion sensors we have in the woods because none of the alarms sounded.

I was right at the window when the birds ran and I went right outside. We checked the camera. Hennifer ran down the driveway away from the house. If she had run with everyone else we could have saved her. Or at least the coyote would not have gotten a meal even if it killed her.

We have a long narrow property and the coop is on the only flat spot left. If we had more land we would make a big chicken enclosure.

We added Guineas and they never stop making that hee haw sound. I think the whole woods has us on it's radar now.

Although now that I have just one Guinea left she has been quiet.

The fisher cat snuck in the farther back part of the yard. We put sensors back there yesterday.

I think they learned where to go. If a sensor goes off one of us goes out.
