Wish I could say there were no fatalities from the tornado outbreak across MO last night. (There was one, possibly two, in Poplar Buff, 30 miles east of me. And a lot of damage.)

I wish mechanical hard drives weren't so slow.

I think I've spent a good chunk of today waiting for one to load stuff. Really makes a nice computer almost unusable.

The 2011 MacBook Pro I got today took my 16GB RAM sticks, so I'm going to toss a SSD in as well for good measure. Probably going to take the slow drives out and put them in my equally as slow 2006 Mac mini (Core Solo CPU, so slow you really can't do too much with it).

The 2011 MacBook Pro I got today took my 16GB RAM sticks, so I'm going to toss a SSD in as well for good measure. Probably going to take the slow drives out and put them in my equally as slow 2006 Mac mini (Core Solo CPU, so slow you really can't do too much with it).

I took the drive out and it looks like someone replaced it at some point. It was a really slow Barracuda drive.

Wish I could say companies didn't manufacture ewaste . At least I can put that drive in the World's Slowest (tm) Mac mini (subject to change).

This 2010 one seems to be doing just fine on Lion using Pale Moon to tap into the modern web.
