Things you wish you could say

Honestly, I just really like chickens. :D I actually learned that years ago when I saw another conversation about chicken breed pronunciations (including Leghorn) and started doing research.

Another fun one is d'Uccle. A lot of people think it should be pronounced like 'dew-clay', but they are named after the Belgian city Uccle which is pronounced 'OO-kla' with a sort of short 'breath' of an 'a' sound at the end. The actual pronunciation of the d'Uccle breed, thus, is 'd-OO-kla'.
…do you want to know how I say it? :D
*Edit* ShrekDawg beat me to it.

It's the same thing in the equestrian world.
Someone goes on a pony ride when they were six, and they think that makes them an expert.
I know all about that. I work at a show horse barn. We try to have 2 girls that I call mini trainers. They're usually teens to early 20s that actually own and show horses themselves. They're like trainers in training and help the boss with lunging, riding, getting horses ready for shows etc, etc.
This are expensive horses and the owners are very particular about who does what with them. We hire "barn help" that is also usually younger girls. They're job is feed, water, supplements, Maybe put horses on the walker, etc.
Almost all say they have horse experience to get the job and then when they do they’re suddenly experts and want to do the mini trainer stuff or braid tails and manes. Anything to play with the horses instead of doing actual work.
It's so bad atm that one chore is to "water the arena" 3Xs a week. Literally stand there with a hose and sprayer and spray down the arena to keep the dust done. One hour of getting paid to stand around and take a few steps every now and again and we can't get anyone to do it.
Shoot I'm doing it. I ain't no horse expert nor do I want to be but I can recognize easy money when I see it.

I did when I was five, I think. All you have to do is sit on the pony and a lady will pull the pony around. Simple! No knowledge necessary!
Even easier: The pony/ponies were attached to a merry-go-round kind of thing, and they just walked in a circle.

Moony, I do know how to run a hose, been doing that for 20 years. I could come water the arena. I wouldn't ask to braid any manes or tails. After I'm done watering, if I could give a horse a bit of apple, that would be cool.

I'd let ya.
I have no problem doing it cause like I said it's easy money but I've always worked for a living so it's kind of hard for me to do something that slow paced. Makes the time drag but I guess it is what it is.
I've also got an issue with being a problem solver so I've told the boss more then once that he should install a sprinkler system above it. Put it on a timer and let it water itself overnight.
Seemed brilliant to me. He started making expense excuses and I told him sh!t I could install that. Now his deal is that he'd have to rent a scissor lift. SMDH. Ya OK whatever, just keep paying me to hold my hose then.

10 years ago, we had a really crappy November. The parking lot at work got REALLY icy. I told the manager we needed to have it treated/cleared/something. "Not in the budget!" was the reply.

I slipped and fell and broke my wrist. Workers' comp covered it. I don't know what the company had to pay, connected with any of that.

Someone had to fill out all the forms. Someone had to do some/a lot of what I did, as I couldn't do all of it one handed. Hubby (he worked there too) had to drive me to the appointments (our cars were stick shifts, and I could not use my right hand at all), taking him out of the mix for an hour or so.

I saw the ER bill: Over $4000 to set my wrist. I think I went to the doctor 6 times. I developed trigger finger on my left thumb, due to it now being used in many ways it wasn't used to, and had surgery on that. MONTHS of physical therapy on my wrist.

Penny wise, pound foolish.
