Police won't do anything?

Here the police literally didn't respond when we called them because someone was pounding on the garage. Several other people called too. Cops showed up hours later.

So many people here ignore the law (anything aerial at all is illegal) that they really only respond when it's egregious. Like dozens of large shells. They prolly put 200 or more large shells in the air, though, and it was super late. They can triangulate a general area with the gunshot detectors they have all over town, and then if people call it in (and I know my neighbors, SOMEONE called it in), they'll respond. Hard to miss from the air when it's that many fireworks, I expect.

• Novelties
• Ground sparkling devices
• Sparkling wheel devices
• Ground based sparklers
• Sales of novelty items such as snappers (pop-its), party poppers, glow worms, snakes, toy smoke devices, and sparklers are permitted at all times.

Everything else is illegal. People seem to have a lack of common sense when it comes to shooting fireworks off, and drunk people even more so. Lots of residential fires because some idiot shot bottle rockets into his neighbor's palm tree or at their house.

There's also the brush fire risk down on the desert and the forest fire risk up in the forests. No rain and dry ponderosa pine are not a good pairing with fireworks.

I live where many Florida-Man can be found, so YES it should totally be a thing! LOL

Last year we got some safe yard fireworks including flaming swords that were very fun to wave around, but too short lived. They need to perfect those things. So much better than sending fire into the air that lasts a second and makes more noise than pretty color. Or blowing off fingers / eyeballs. Destroying neighbors property, etc.

We're fearfully watching the sky for smoke this morning.
It doesn't even have to be fireworks, it can be some lowlife camper ignoring the burn ban and thinking just dumping a gallon of water on their camp fire coals is good enough.
