Things you wish you could say

Twice?? I’ve been called at least 2 dozen times!
My 21 year old daughter was just called for the second time, and I’m sure my 23 year old will be called again this year.
Both my girls have been excused as full time college students.

I wish I could say I didn't open my big mouth and summon another 12 inches of snow. "Ackshully, we didn't get that much!"

In NJ, you get paid $5 per day. That is neither a typo nor joke. I wish I could say it was!
Wow. Thanks, NJ. Not even enough to get lunch.

I think I would fake my own death at that point. Good grief. Leave @tlcmurphy alone!

You know I perused the list of excuses, and I honestly didn’t see death on the list. Our metro Atlanta county calls way more jurors than they’ll ever use for the week, I’ve only had to go in maybe 8-9 times.

I was able to be excused from jury duty over the summer because I have a minor child at home and my husband works during the day. One other time, I was summoned and put all my "special gear" on. I would elaborate but would probably be reported. Let's just say, I was wearing a lot of red. They took one look at me and told me I could go home😁

$5 might cover transportation cost, no lunch!!!

Over here: Employer has to pay employee a full normal wages still while employee is on Jury duty.
The Jury office pays that person a daily fee to be on Jury duty.
The employee can give their employer this Jury payment, and some employers let their employees keep the jury payment as well as the normal salary/wages employee received from the employer.

Both are taxable income to be declared and income tax is paid.

Over here they don't ask question or say anything. A person's name is called out of the randomly picked in a box, that person moves forward to the Jury seat, and if the defense called out a special word that mean they rejected that particular Jury, this person walks back and the next Jury is picked until they reached 13 Jurors without objection.

The case is read out, and names of people in the case including witnesses..etc.. is read out, any of the 13 jurors recognised these names, case, they will be required to inform the Judge and they will be excuse from this case.

13 Jurors picked so that in case anything happened they excuse a juror, that #13 replaced #12. Only 12 people make decision of the outcome.

@R2elk
Here is the box of mango I got yesterday from a mango farmer by the road. A$30 for a box of 10. ~ each weighed about 700g. R2E2 Mango is very sweet.

Edit to add that I have to eat these quickly so that I can eat more as the season about to end next month or so. It gets cheaper as it draw closer to the end.
